It was another busy weekend for the Western Valley Panthers. Like the previous weekend they had the tough challenge of playing three games in three days.

Game one was on the road in West Kent to take on the Koyotes. The Panthers and Koyotes have already faced each other twice this season were the Koyotes had taken both games in shoot out. Both games were fast paced and tight games; Friday night’s game was no different. A tight scoring game that saw the Koyotes with the 2-1 lead late in the third until Dexter Pelkey was able to put it home with 0:42 left on the clock. The teams took it to overtime but saw no scoring and like the previous games the two teams were off to a shoot out. The Koyotes deemed victorious with the 3-2 victory. The Panthers still able to grab a single point out of the lose and moved on to back home to take on the Hampton Hurricanes.

The Panthers Hurricanes rivalry has been one that has seen lots of scoring, physicality, and bad blood. Things were no different Saturday. The Panthers came out flying; tired of being defeated by their rivals they showed no mercy. The Panthers scored 6 unanswered goals and waked away with the easy 6-0 victory. 6 players had multi point games and Patrick Godreau stopped 21 shots for the shut out.

Sunday the Panthers were on the road again to take on the Grand Lake Moose. The Moose have yet to win a game this season and the Panthers took full advantage. The Panthers scored 7 goals on 39 shots enough to take a 7-2 victory. 5 Players had multi point games including Dylan Weeks with a three-point night. Patrick Godreau backstopped the Panthers to get his second victory in two nights.

The victory gave the Panthers 5 out of 6 possible points for the weekend and a two game winning streak. It also puts the Panthers in a three-way tie for 4th place in the NBJHL standings.
