This weekend the Panthers took on one of the two new of the NBJHL expansion teams, the Fundy Cobras. The two teams played in a home and home beginning Friday in Blacks Harbor.

After a slow start from the Panthers the Cobras capitalized first in the first period. The Panthers continued the slow play but were able to tie the game up and in the third period really turned up the intensity and score 4 unanswered goals. With Patrick Godreau back stopping the winning effort with 21 saves the Panthers were able to walk away with the 5 - 1 victory. Notable performances from Captain Jared Brooks who took a point shot to the face but was able to finish the night with two points. Ryan Paul, Dexter Pelkey, Jonathan Cheney & Aurelle St. Amand also with two point nights.

The Panthers and Cobras did battle Saturday at the Hartland Arena. The Panthers came out to another slow start and the Cobras got on the board first. The Panthers were able to get on the board to tie the game but the Cobras went on full assault and scored three unanswered goals. It was not until the end of the second and the third periods the Panthers were able match that intensity and came back to tie the game at four late in the third period, but the Cobras were able to score with only 5 seconds remaining on the power play after a questionable call that would put the Panthers a man short. This giving the Cobras their first win of the season. Although short of the comeback the Panthers received strong efforts from Jared DeMerchant with two goals, also Jared Brooks, Alan Hargrove, and Tyler Harding with two point nights as well.

The Panthers are back in action this weekend with another home and home with the leagues other new expansion team, the Kent Koyotes. Games start Friday in Cocange and finish up Saturday night in Hartland. Game time for Saturday night’s game is 7:00PM.

For the month of November a few of the Panthers are participating in the famous Movember. They will be growing mustaches as well as raising money to donate to Movember Canada to help raise money for men’s health. Make sure to keep an eye out on our Facebook page for pictures of the best mo's on the team.

You can help the cause by donating on the Panthers Movember Canada page (you can find the link below) as well as by donating your spare change in a container you can find at the front gate of home games starting this weekend. Help the Panthers and Movember raise awareness of men's health.
