The Panthers started a busy weekend Friday night in Shediac were they faced rival Hotel Shediac Predators. This being the first meeting between the two teams since the Panthers swept the Predators in the first round of the 2012 - 2013 NBJHL Playoffs.

The Panthers were able to score walk away with a 7-4 victory with a four point night fro Bradley Johnston & three point nights from Jared DeMerchant & Jared Brooks. Also excellent efforts in net from rookie Dakota Acott, who left mid way through the second due to a undisclosed injury and was replaced by Patrick Godreau who closed the door to preserve the victory.

Saturday night the Panthers took on the Moncton Vito's back at "The Cage" in Hartland. The first game back in Hartland was special for a couple reasons. Not only was it the Panthers first game back in Hartland this season it was also Breast Cancer Awareness night. The Panthers were honored to invite cancer survivor Leanne Gallant to drop the puck for the ceremony puck drop as well as be their guest of honor for the night.

The Panthers were able to get on the board first with a power play goal from Jacob Clark, which was also the first of his career. The Vito's then proved why they are they defending champs and took over the game scoring 5 unanswered goals, although the Panthers never backed down out shooting the Vito's 44 - 42. But it was not enough to beat goalie Jeremy Gallant as the Vito's took the game 5 - 1.

Although the Panthers were unable to get the win the night was still a success in supporting the fight against Breast Cancer. On behalf of the entire Panthers organization, we would like to thank everyone who came out and supported the Panthers and this great cause.

The Panthers are back at it this weekend with a home and home with the one of the newest expansion teams the Fundy Cobras starting Friday night in Blacks Harbor.
